Wire and Wood Songwriters Festival to Feature Big Names

Wire and Wood Songwriters FestivalAlpharetta, GA -- Over 25 nationally recognized singer-songwriters will gather together for three days of concerts on three stages to perform their original songs. The Wire and Wood Songwriters Festival will take place on Friday, October 16 from 5-10 p.m. and Saturday, October 17 from 3-10 p.m. in Alpharetta, Georgia. A free kickoff performance featuring Nashville-based award-winning singer songwriter Liz Longley and bluegrass-country-punk band The Whiskey Gentry will take place at Avalon on Thursday, October 15 from 6-8 p.m. Liz is touring in support of her debut self-titled Sugar Hill Records release.

Festivities this year will begin in Gate City, Virginia, and end at the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons. All crafts and outside vendors will be set up in Gate City. Gate City’s festivities will close by 5:30 to allow everyone time to get to the closing concert at the Fold. The goal of Clinch Mountain Music Fest is to preserve and perpetuate the heritage of the Appalachian region through its’ music.

Kentucky's Own Sam Bush Returns to ROMP Festival

Sam Bush at ROMP 2015Owensboro, KY -- Bowling Green KY native Sam Bush, the King of Newgrass, has been honored by the Americana Music Association with its Lifetime Achievement Award and by the International Bluegrass Music Association on any number of occasions. But honors are not what drives him. "I didn't get into music to win awards," he says. "I'm just now starting to get somewhere. I love to play, and the older I get, the more I love it."
