Musicians Against Childhood Cancer July 16-19

Flatt Lonesome MACCThe 30th Annual Musicians Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Bluegrass Classic will be held at Hoover Y-Park, Columbus, Ohio. The dates for the music festival are July 16 - 19, 2014. Proceeds from this festival will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Since the year 2000, MACC and you have donated $755,690.00 to St. Jude and the Y.M.C.A., helping children around the world. This year will be the 15th Year for Musicians Against Childhood Cancer. Adkins Productions and The Bluegrass Classic with the help of many musicians have founded Musicians Against Childhood Cancer, an annual charitable event to benefit children with life threatening illnesses.

Grascals Headline Spring Bluegrass Festival This Weekend

The Grascals 10th AnniversaryGrammy-Nominated Bluegrass Band The Grascals will headline the Sertoma Youth Ranch Spring Festival this weekend in Brooksville, Florida, near Tampa. The four-day long festival which begins today, March 26, and runs through Sunday, is a fundraiser for the Sertoma Youth Ranch, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to provide a rustic, outdoor recreational area for the children of Florida.

We're pleased to announce that fiddler, Adam Haynes is the newest Grascal! We are so happy to have Adam in the band and look forward to all of you being able to hear him play.

Bluegrass Fiddler Jeremy Abshire Begins his Next Music Chapter

In a comment on his facebook page, Jeremy says, "Friends, As some of you may or may not know, after Six years with The Grascals, a handful of recordings together, and a lifetime of memories, it's time for the next chapter of my musical journey. I wish the band much success and am grateful for my time there, and the many wonderful opportunities shared. I look forward to new musical adventures to come. Jimmy Jam Benefit Tonight on Music City Roots Live-Stream

Jim VanCleveBluegrass music artist Jim VanCleve, founding member of Mountain Heart (fiddle), contracted Dengue Fever from mosquito bites he got from a recent trip to St. Croix back in March. The near fatal experience resulted in Jim being hospitalized for days. Now, he is suffering from the huge medical expenses as a result of that infection. Tonight, Music City Roots will live-stream Jimmy Jam, a live benefit to help Jim and his family with those expenses.
