Minnesota Bluegrass Festival Returns to El Rancho Mañana Campground

Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music FestivalRichmond, MN -- The Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Festival, August 7-10, 2014, in Richmond, Minnesota, provides an inexpensive daytrip or weekend just 85 miles from the Twin Cities. Nominated three times as Event of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association, it offers music and activities for the whole family: over 30 hours of concerts by national and regional bands, including Russell Moore (IBMA's most-awarded male vocalist) & IIIrd Tyme Out, and Grammy-nominated The Boxcars, over 20 hours of demonstrations and hands-on workshops, and old-time dances. Kids will enjoy over 20 hours of activities, including contests, crafts, games, and special stage shows. Many attendees bring instruments for around-the-clock jamming, both organized and impromptu.

The Gibson BrothersEl Rancho Mañana, Minnesota - The Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Festival has been nominated three times as Event of the Year by the IBMA in Nashville. It is a four day music and camping festival that includes thirty hours of Mainstage concerts; plus daytime instrument collaborations and nightly dances in The Showcase Tent; music, contests, crafts, and games in The Family Area; twenty hands-on bluegrass music workshops in the Workshop Area; new groups on the Young Talent Stage; and dozens of food and merchant booths in the Marketplace Area.

This event, produced by the non-profit Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association (MBOTMA), has been nominated three times as Bluegrass Event of the Year (2005, 2007, & 2010) by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) in Nashville. This year's headliners will include the IBMA's Entertainers Of The Year - The Gibson Brothers!
