East Meets West Bluegrass EventA concert event two years in the making will take place at The Old Liberty Theater in Ridgefield, Washington on Saturday, November 19th when East meets West – bluegrass style! Kentucky’s Kenny Stinson & Perfect Tym’n bring their traditional authentic sound to blend in perfect harmony with the Oregon based 2015 International Music and Entertainment Association Bluegrass Group of the Year Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising.

2016 Bluegrass IMEA Awards Announced

Open RailThe awards for the International Music and Entertainment Associations (IMEA) were handed out during the awards celebration held October 8, 2016 at the Tucker Theatred in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The Bluegrass Music category contains three award categories for the IMEA trophies.

Along with the August announcement of the 2016 International Music and Entertainment Association award nominees came news of this year’s Early Honors Award Winners – which were nearly a clean sweep by bluegrass artists!

Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising Lets Her Roll with New Single

Let Her RollBased in Tualatin, Oregon, the award winning original roots music group Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising continues to stack up awards and accolades while performing their high-energy shows throughout the West. Awards include guitar player Dennis Nelson being named 2008 Roots Music Association Bluegrass Songwriter of the Year and banjo player Tom Tower winning the $10,000 prize in the 2010 City Love Music Contest. In October of 2015 the band brought home the honor of International Music & Entertainment Association 2015 Bluegrass Group of the Year.

In a multi-genre category, Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising took home the award for Holiday Song of the Year.

Star of Hope Activity Center's Bluegrass Bash Aug. 27th

The 2010 event was such a hit that they are having a repeat fund raising event in beautiful Mingus Park in Coos Bay, Oregon for Star of Hope's 3rd Annual Bluegrass Bash!
