Bluegrass Stars Join Together for James King Benefit Concert

James KingNashville, TN -- On Monday, December 15, 2014, at 6:00 PM, some of the finest musicians from the world of bluegrass will perform at a benefit concert for James King. King, a beloved fixture on the music scene for the past three decades who is known as “The Bluegrass Storyteller,” was recently diagnosed with chronic liver failure, and is in need of a transplant.

James Reams & The BarnstormersLitchfield Park, AZ -- James Reams & The Barnstormers featuring legendary fiddler, Blaine Sprouse, will be appearing at the Firecreek Coffee Co. in Flagstaff on Saturday, November 14th. A bluegrass band that was nominated by the International Bluegrass Music Association in 2002 as Emerging Artist of the Year, James Reams & The Barnstormers provide a contemporary take on traditional bluegrass; blending it with innovation and vitality to create their own branch on the “roots” tree. In a review of an early album by James Reams, fRoots (an international magazine that specializes in world music) declared, “Traditional music kept alive by a stylish performer... Powerful, emotional music that needs to be heard.”

6th Bluegrass for Hospice Features The Seldom Scene Oct 25

The Seldom SceneThe Bluegrass for Hospice-2014, now in its 6th year, will be held on Saturday October 25 and will feature The Seldom Scene. The event will be held at the Flat Iron Farm in Great Mills, Maryland. It is located on Flat Iron Road just 1.5 miles from MD Route 5. The event begins at Noon with gates opening at 11:00 am. All proceeds for the day go to support the Hospice House of St. Mary’s County.

Carter Family Fold Special Concert June 6th

Mountain Park Old-Time BandFriday, June 6th, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia, will present a special concert to celebrate the donation of an AED (automated external defibrillator) from Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center and the Level One Heart Attack Network to our venue. Holston Valley employees and co-workers are especially encouraged to attend this free concert. Wristbands for employee event admission are available in the Wellmont HVMC Human Resources office on a first-come, first-serve basis – four per employee. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend as well. In lieu of admission, please bring a donation of canned goods for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Dr. Mark Handy and the Mountain Park Old Time Band will be our featured band, but there may be some other guest performers.
