Bluegrass Music's Biggest Night Award Winners

IBMA Awards LogoBluegrass Music's Biggest Night, the International Bluegrass Music Awards honored the genre's outstanding contributors and artists. The awards are voted upon by the professional membership of the association through a three ballot process. The 2017 awards took place Thursday night in Raleigh, NC. There were multiple categories of awards and, the formal induction for the Hall of Fame inductees. The main awards, special awards, momentum awards and Hall of Fame inductions comprises all of the IBMA award presentations.

2017 43rd SPBGMA Awards Winners Announced

SPBGMA LogoThe Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) Bluegrass Music Award presentations took place Sunday, February 5, 2017. Dean Eaton was generous enough to post the awards as they were announced on his Facebook page. The 43rd Annual SPBGMA Bluegrass Music Awards took place during the 34th National SPBGMA Convention held at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. The awards show is definitely the highlight of the annual event and bluegrass music's biggest stars are always there participating in performances as well as collecting their respective trophies.

27th International Bluegrass Music Award Winners

The Earls of LeicesterThe International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) was held Thursday and the winners were announced during the annual Awards Show. The 2016 Awards Show was held Thursday, September 29 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, Memorial Hall in the Oak City, lovely Raleigh, NC. Sierra Hull and Dan Tyminski hosted the gala event.

Chris Stapleton Captures Numerous ACM Awards

Cohosted by Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley, the awards honors and showcases the biggest names and emerging talent in Country Music today. Once again, Chris Stapleton captured not only the spotlight but many awards as well.

The awards show is always the highlight of the annual event and bluegrass music's biggest stars were there participating in performances as well as collecting their respective trophies. The trophies have been awarded, the celebrations have begun and everybody is getting ready to make more great bluegrass music in 2016.

2015 26th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards

During the week, the IBMA elected new board members, assigned a new chairman to the board and many mentoring and educational sessions also took place. It is, however, the Awards Show that brings the entire bluegrass community together for the season's Grand Finale. This year was certainly no exception. The Earls of Leicester were the Earls of Raleigh last night. Capturing the coveted Entertainer of the Year, the group also won the trophy for Instrumental Group of the Year and Album of the Year.

Steve Martin AFI Life Achievement with Lonesome River BandHollywood, CA -- Lonesome River Band members Sammy Shelor and Mike Hartgrove performed last night with actor Martin Short when Steve Martin was honored with the 43rd American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award - the highest honor for a career in film. The award was presented to Steve Martin during the gala tribute at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif. and will air June 13th on TBS at 10:00 p.m. The star-studded event included: Tiny Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Conan O’Brien, Dan Aykroyd, Jack Black, Steve Carell, and many more.
