With Eight Each, Earls & Balsam Range Lead IBMA Award Nominations

IBMA Awards LogoNashville, TN -- Nominees for the 2017 International Bluegrass Music Awards were announced today at a press conference in Nashville, Tennessee, with Balsam Range and the Earls of Leicester leading the pack with eight nominations each. Balsam Range received six nominations for the band and two for their individual members, while the Earls pulled in five nominations, plus three for individual members. Close behind are the Gibson Brothers, with seven nominations (band and individuals), and Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, with five nominations (band and individuals). IBMA Announces Special Awards Nominees

IBMA AwardsNashville, TN -- The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) has announced the nominees for their Special Awards, honors that recognize outstanding work in categories including Broadcaster of the Year, Bluegrass Event of the Year, Best Graphic Design for a Recorded Project, Best Liner Notes for a Recorded Project, Print/Media Person of the Year and Bluegrass Songwriter of the Year. The Special Awards will be handed out Thursday, September 29, during a luncheon at the World of Bluegrass Business Conference at the Raleigh Convention Center in downtown Raleigh, NC.

2016 IBMA Award Nominees Announced

The 2016 Awards Show will be held Thursday, September 29 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, Memorial Hall in the Oak City, lovely Raleigh, NC. Sierra Hull and Dan Tyminski will host the 2016 awards. Known as bluegrass music’s biggest night of the year, the International Bluegrass Music Awards acknowledges the year’s outstanding talent and achievements, honors new Hall of Fame inductees, and waves the worldwide flag for bluegrass music.

The Earls of Leicester Sweep International Bluegrass Music Awards

IBMA Awards LogoRaleigh, NC -- Bluegrass music’s finest were honored last evening at the 26th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards, handed out in front of full house at the Duke Energy Center in Raleigh, N.C. The Earls of Leicester swept with four wins: Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, Instrumental Group of the Year, and Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year. Add to that Earls of Leicester member Jerry Douglas’ win for Dobro Player of the Year and Earls member Shawn Camp’s Male Vocalist of the Year win; a good night indeed for the five-piece band.

Rhonda Vincent Captures her 8th Female Vocalist of the Year Award

Rhonda VincentNashville, TN -- Since being dubbed "The New Queen of Bluegrass" by the Wall Street Journal, Rhonda Vincent has evolved as one of the most decorated musicians in the genre's history. Last night, her peers once again proclaimed her as "Female Vocalist of the Year" at the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards. Vincent is no stranger to this honor, having won this exact award an unprecedented 7-consecutive years in a row from 2000 to 2006. This win comes after a record-setting year of touring for Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, as they brought their 2015 World Tour to more audiences than ever before, while traveling throughout North American and into Europe.

2015 26th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards

IBMA Awards LogoNashville, TN -- As Hurricane Joaquin races towards the East Coast and Raleigh, North Carolina, it was the International Bluegrass Music Awards that was the focus on the excitement for the evening. During the week, the IBMA elected new board members, assigned a new chairman to the board and many mentoring and educational sessions also took place. It is, however, the Awards Show that brings the entire bluegrass community together for the season's Grand Finale. This year was certainly no exception. The Earls of Leicester were the Earls of Raleigh last night. Capturing the coveted Entertainer of the Year, the group also won the trophy for Instrumental Group of the Year and Album of the Year.

26th IBMA Awards to be Live Streamed by Music City Roots

IBMA Awards LogoNashville, TN -- Thursday night’s 26th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards will be live streamed online by Music City Roots on their website, www.MusicCityRoots.com. This is in addition to the live broadcast on SiriusXM Satellite Radio (Bluegrass Junction) which was previously announced, as well as the live broadcast throughout North Carolina by WUNC-TV. Sponsors making this possible include Acceptance Auto Insurance, BMI, Compass Records, Deering Banjos, and the International Bluegrass Music Museum and Mountain Home Music Company. The show will be hosted by The Gibson Brothers and begins at 7:30 p.m./EDT and takes place at Memorial Auditorium in the Duke Energy Center in Raleigh, N.C. Awards are voted on by the professional membership of the IBMA.

IBMA Awards Nominations Announced August 12 on One-Hour Live Show

World of Bluegrass 2015Nashville, TN -- The nominations for the 26th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards will be announced on Wednesday, August 12, as part of a live show on SiriusXM’s Bluegrass Junction channel (channel 61.) The Gibson Brothers, two-time IBMA Entertainer of the Year recipients and hosts of this year’s Awards show in Raleigh, North Carolina on October 1, will reveal the nominations during the SiriusXM one-hour live show, which will air from 11am – 12noon Eastern/ 10am – 11am Central.

IBMA Announces TV Broadcast of Bluegrass Music Awards

Balsam Range IBMA Entertainer of the YearNashville, TN -- The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) announced plans to air an edited version of the 25th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards on U.S. television. The Awards show, filmed live on October 2, 2014 in the Memorial Theatre at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh, North Carolina and hosted by Lee Ann Womack and Jerry Douglas, will be part of American Public Television’s “Music City Roots” series in 2015. The syndicated series aired in 71 PBS markets across the United States this past year. A one-hour edit of the Awards show is expected to air in late February or early March 2015.

Flatt Lonesome Celebrating as Emerging Artist of the Year
