Bill Anderson to Celebrate 50th Anniversary as Opry Member Saturday, July 16

Bill AndersonNashville, TN -- The Grand Ole Opry presented by Humana will honor one of its longest tenured members, Bill Anderson, on his 50th anniversary as an Opry member on Sat., July 16, 7:00 p.m. The Country Music Hall of Fame member made his Opry debut just a few weeks before his 21st birthday and became a member less than three years later.

Bill Monroe: A Centennial Celebration

OermannkSept. 13, 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the father of bluegrass music and one of his longtime friends has honored him with a musical tribute. Banjo player and producer Mike Scott often played, dined and shared stories with CMA's Country Music Hall of Fame member Bill Monroe. Scott was never a member of the master's famed Blue Grass Boys band, but he was closer to him than many musicians who were.

CMHoF to Open 'Chet Atkins: Certified Guitar Player' August 12

 Certified Guitar PlayerNashville, TN -- The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will pay tribute to one of country music's most versatile and visionary artists, Chet Atkins, with Chet Atkins: Certified Guitar Player, a biographical exhibit opening Friday, August 12, 2011, for a 10-month run in the Museum's East Gallery. The exhibition, which is made possible through the generous support of the Gretsch Company with additional support provided by Great American Country Television Network, will run through June 11, 2012.

Connie Smith Selected as CMHoF 2011 Artist-in-Residence

Connie SmithNashville, TN -- Legendary vocalist Connie Smith will bring her incomparable voice, her catalog of hits and some of her favorite collaborators when she takes the Ford Theater stage as the Country Music Hall of Fame (CMHoF) and Museum's 2011 Artist-in-Residence. Smith will serve as host and curator for the intimate evening performances, which are slated for August 22, August 29 and September 12 at 7:00 p.m.

James Burton to be Saluted as Nashville Cat July 23rd

Guitar Sounds of James BurtonNashville, TN -- Renowned guitarist James Burton will be saluted on Saturday, July 23, as part of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's popular series Nashville Cats: A Celebration of Music City Musicians. Country Music Hall of Fame Names New Trustee and Officers

Country Music Hall of Fame and MuseumNashville, TN -- At the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's quarterly board meeting today, BMI's Nashville Vice President, Writer-Publisher Relations Jody Williams was elected to a first term as a trustee. Gibson Guitar Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz and Lee, Danner & Bass, Inc. Principal and Director Ernie Williams were re-elected to three-year terms as trustees.
