SPBGMA Bluegrass Music Award Winners Honored

Junior sisk & Ramblers ChoiceNashville, TN -- The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) Awards were the culmination of the annual convention held in Nashville Tennessee. Sunday evening, the awards ceremony took place to the delight of all those attending. SPBGMA is a regular favorite events for bluegrass fans and artists alike. The awards are especially important because, unlike the IBMA, the votes for these awards come primarily from the fans and not professionals in the industry. The list of nominations includes the entire spectrum of bluegrass music artists.

SPBGMA Bluegrass Music Nominations and Recent Winners Announced

Rhonda VincentRhonda Vincent And the Rage were happily surprised to hear that they received a dozen nominations for the The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) Awards scheduled to take place next month in Nashville. The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) is a regular favorite for bluegrass fans and artists. The Midwest Convention and Awards are the last SPBGMA event prior to the National Convention which will be held in Nashville, Tennessee from January 31st through February 3, 2013. The winners of the Midweest Awards are listed below.

39th SPBGMA Bluegrass America Showcase of Bands Oct 11-14

Bluegrass BrigadeFrom October 11 through October 14, The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) will again host their America Showcase of Bands at the Northeast Missouri fairgrounds on Highweay 11 East, Kirksville, Missouri. Camping and Jamming are a favorite part of this annual event.

Cracker Barrel Congratulates Their SPBGMA Award Winners

The Gospel Side of Dailey & VincentLebanon, TN -- Rounder Records recording group Dailey & Vincent were honored with multiple awards during the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) awards show on February 5, 2012 in Nashville, Tenn. Together they won Gospel Group of the Year (Contemporary), Vocal Group of the Year, and Overall Bluegrass Band of the Year. Separately, Jamie Dailey earned Entertainer of the Year and Contemporary Male Vocalist, and Darrin Vincent earned Bass Performer of the Year. In addition, acclaimed bluegrass group The Grascals was named Instrumental Group of the Year at the 39th Annual SPBGMA Awards.

2012 SPBGMA National Bluegrass Music Award Winners

Jamie DaileyThe Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) held their 29th National Convention and the 38th Anniversary Bluegrass Music Awards February 2-5, 2012. The four-day event was held at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. The awards were posted by SPBGMA yesterday evening. The awards are the big item of the convention and we have the winners listed below. Jamie Dailey, pictured, took home the 2012 Entertainer of the Year honors.

2012 SPBGMA Convention, National Awards Nominations Announced

2012 SPBGMS Awards + ConventionThe Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) will hold their 239th National Convention and the 38th Anniversary Bluegrass Music Awards February 2-5, 2012. The four-day event will be held at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, just south of Opryland USA. The convention and awards show will also feature a banjo workshop and a national promoters meeting.

SPBGMA Honors The All American Bluegrass Band as Entertaining Group of the Year

The All American Bluegrass BandThe Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) is a regular favorite for bluegrass fans and artists. The 38th Annual SPBGMA Midwest Bluegrass Music Awards and 29th Midwest Convention was held January 13th through the 15th, 2012 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, Jefferson City, MO. Last December 29th, the midwest 2012 nominees were announced by SPBGMA. This year, The All American Bluegrass Band captured the Entertaining Group of the Year while Jeff Hardin captured Entertainer of the Year honors.

SPBGMA 38th Bluegrass America Showcase of Bands Coming October 13-16

Bluegrass BrigadeSPBGMA, the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America, will host their 38th Annual Bluegrass America Showcase of Bands at the NEMO Fairgrounds in Kirksville, Missouri on October 13-16. The four-day showcase will feature bands from four states. There is camping and plenty of jamming available.
